Blackstar FLY 3 Gitarowe Mini-combo

Blackstar FLY 3 Mini Combo Amp — Big Tone in a Take-Anywhere Package

The Blackstar FLY 3 White is a 3 W battery-powered mini combo amp that delivers the tonal balance of a larger cabinet in a take-anywhere format. Inside the sealed enclosure sits a single 76 mm (3") full-range driver, mathematically modelled to behave like wood, so low-end response matches what players expect from a much bigger amp. This model suits bedroom practice, hotel-room warm-ups, and impromptu jam sessions where carrying a 15 kg combo simply isn't an option. The FLY 3 White runs on six AA batteries or the optional DC adapter, leaving the wall socket behind.

What Sets the FLY 3 Apart from Other Mini Amps

Two design choices make this little combo stand out. Blackstar's patented ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) sweeps continuously between an American-style voicing — tight bottom end and aggressive midrange — and a British-style voicing that is woody and less aggressive. Sealed, tuned, and engineered to have the Young's Modulus of wood, the cabinet housing preserves the bass response that mini amps usually lose. The result is a 3 W amp that reviewers describe as sounding like a practice combo four times its size.

Two Channels and 3 W of Clean Power

Dual-channel layout gives players a true Clean voice and a separate Overdrive channel without menu-diving. The Overdrive is voiced to clean up naturally when you roll back the guitar's volume knob, mirroring a full-sized tube amp and giving one guitar two distinct textures.

• Channels: Clean and Overdrive — two independent voices selected from the top panel
• Power Output: 3 W — bedroom-friendly volume that still pushes the 76 mm driver
• Speaker: 1 x 76 mm (3") full-range driver — eliminates the crossover that colours guitar frequencies in typical mini amps

ISF Tone Shaping and Built-In Tape Delay

Blackstar's ISF knob is the heart of the FLY 3's tonal flexibility, letting a single 3 W combo cover everything from country-clean twang to classic-rock crunch. A digital tape delay sits alongside the EQ, with dedicated Time and Level controls for anything from quick slapback to long, evolving repeats.

• EQ Control: ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) — sweeps from American tight-and-aggressive to British woody-and-smooth
• Delay Effect: Digital 'tape' delay with separate Delay Time and Delay Level knobs for slapback or ambient repeats
• Top-Panel Controls: Gain, Volume, ISF, Delay Time, Delay Level, OD Select — every function reachable without menus

Inputs, Outputs, and Battery-Powered Portability

Connectivity covers silent practice, music playback, and expansion. The MP3/Line In accepts a phone or laptop for jamming along to tracks, while the Emulated Headphone/Line Out carries Blackstar's cabinet voicing to a mixer or interface for quiet recording.

• Inputs/Outputs: 6.3 mm TS instrument jack, 3.5 mm TRS Line In, 3.5 mm Headphone/Emulated Line Out, FLY 103 extension speaker out
• Power: 6 x AA batteries or DC adapter (sold separately) — battery life rated for hours at half volume
• Dimensions and Weight: 170 x 126 x 102 mm, 0.9 kg — fits in a gig bag pocket or backpack

Who Should Pick Up the FLY 3 White

The FLY 3 White is the right choice for guitarists who need a genuinely portable practice amp that still sounds like a real Blackstar combo. Travelling players, apartment dwellers, and bedroom learners get a Clean/Overdrive setup with pro-grade tone shaping and a usable delay, all in a 0.9 kg box running on AA batteries. The headphone/Emulated Out makes it equally useful for silent late-night practice or quick home recordings into an audio interface. Players who already own a stage combo will appreciate the FLY 3 as a grab-and-go backup that keeps the same tonal DNA.

Blackstar and the FLY Series

Blackstar Amplification built its reputation on high-gain tube amps for rock and metal players, and the FLY series applies that engineering mindset to the mini-amp category. Recognition has followed, including Guitar.com's Best Practice Amps 2020 award and a Gear of the Decade 2014 badge, with Michael Brown of Total Guitar and Guitarist noting the amp sounds as good as practice combos four times its size. The White finish joins a colour line-up that also includes classic black, surf green, and neon variants.
