Unlike typical libraries that provide finished crash sounds, this kit offers granular components essential for creating realistic vehicle damage sounds. With studio-recorded elements, real-world scrapyard sessions, and large-scale crane drops, you’ll find hundreds of individual files designed to be assembled into crashes that perfectly match your scene.

Built Layer by Layer

A convincing crash sound is constructed from multiple layers: impact, resonance, debris, and structural settling. ROAD RAGE captures each of these elements in isolation across various materials such as glass, metal, plastic, and rubber, allowing you to create crashes that are tailored to the action.

Recording Phases

This library features three distinct recording phases, each targeting different aspects of the dynamic range:

• Studio sessions for clean, isolated components.
• Scrapyard sessions utilizing heavy equipment to generate impactful sounds.
• Crane drops for the highest-energy material in the library.

Two Perspectives, One Take

Major impacts are captured from multiple simultaneous positions, including exterior M/S and A/B stereo, Ambisonic interior capture, and contact microphones on the surfaces. This ensures that collisions are recorded from both outside and inside the vehicle, providing a comprehensive sound experience.

Designed for Game Audio

With physics-driven destruction systems in mind, ROAD RAGE offers hundreds of distinct, addressable elements. Its component structure, UCS-tagged metadata, and organized categories make it easy to adapt individual sounds to game engine triggers, whether for a low-speed scrape or a high-speed barrier impact.

Material by Material Organization

The Construction Kit is categorized by material and vehicle component, featuring:

• Glass and car parts for break, debris, and shatter events.
• Metal sounds for panel impacts, hood hits, scrapes, and friction across major body sections.
• Plastic and carbon cracking and rattling under stress.
• Structural elements including door flex, body rolls, and frame resonance.
• Environmental contact surfaces such as dirt, grass, ice, chain link fences, road signs, and poles.
• Mechanical details covering interior rattles, component stress, and rubber tire friction, along with additional sounds like tire screeches, burnouts, and drift sounds recorded on location.

Multi-Position Capture

Many events are recorded from multiple simultaneous mic positions, including exterior M/S and A/B configurations, interior Ambisonic (AmbiX) capture, and contact microphones on vehicle surfaces. Selected events also feature additional close-mic positions, allowing the same event to be experienced from various perspectives without acoustic inconsistency.
