Audio-Technica AT4081 Mikrofon wstęgowy
The AT4081 is an active ribbon microphone offering the natural, smooth frequency response characteristic of ribbon technology paired with the sensitivity and phantom power compatibility of condenser microphones. Its bidirectional (figure-8) polar pattern captures sound equally from front and back, making it ideal for Blumlein stereo pairs, room recording, and broadcast applications where a natural, detailed transient response is essential.
Active Ribbon Element
An internal active circuit buffers the ribbon element, eliminating the sensitivity limitations of passive ribbon designs. The AT4081 operates on standard 48V phantom power and delivers a healthy output level comparable to condenser microphones, making it compatible with virtually any professional preamp without requiring dedicated high-gain ribbon inputs.
Bidirectional Pattern and Null Points
The figure-8 polar pattern features deep null points at 90° and 270°, providing excellent off-axis rejection from the sides. This characteristic makes the AT4081 well suited for recording in acoustically treated rooms where controlling reflections is important, as well as for stereo M-S techniques as the side element.
Frequency Response and SPL Handling
The ribbon element captures frequencies from 20 Hz to 18 kHz with a gentle, natural roll-off in the high frequencies that many engineers prefer for brass, strings, and room ambience. Maximum SPL handling of 140 dB ensures the AT4081 withstands demanding sources without distortion.
