About the Library

Crafted by artisans at the Philadelphia-based Schulmerich company, these handbells have been meticulously built for nearly 200 years. The sampled set, rich in character and beauty, has been carefully recorded to capture their distinctive fullness and warmth. Our virtual version is designed for ease of use, enabling you to customize the sound without compromising the original bells' quality. With just a few clicks, you can adjust the tone from a bright, soft shimmer to a dynamic, percussive performance. Additionally, a built-in toggle allows you to select between two damping types.

While handbells are often associated with grand church halls, this library offers much more. You can effortlessly add majestic reverb to create enchanting atmospheres, and even during rapid passages, the bells maintain their crystal clarity. The intimate recordings open up a world of possibilities, from synthy 80s soundtracks to contemplative spacey soundscapes and unique aural textures.

Handchimes, a traditional complement to handbells, produce a tone reminiscent of a music box but with greater resonance. They sound exquisite on their own or when paired with the handbells.
