Boss WL-20 Wireless Guitar System — Cable-Free Tone, Zero Hassle

The Boss WL-20 wireless guitar system is built for players who want to ditch the cable without sacrificing tone or feel. Driven by BOSS's lightning-fast 2.4 GHz wireless technology, this compact transmitter-and-receiver pair delivers clean, full-range audio with rock-solid stability and ultra-low 2.3 ms latency. The Boss WL-20 is the right choice for guitarists who want plug-and-play wireless freedom at home, in rehearsal, and on stage.

Virtual Cable Technology With Cable Tone Simulation

What sets the WL-20 apart is BOSS's "Virtual Cable" approach — the transmitter plugs into the instrument and the receiver into the amp, just like a standard guitar lead. Built-in cable tone simulation reproduces the natural capacitive effect of a 3 m guitar cable, gently rolling off the top end so passive pickups sound natural. Up to 14 BOSS wireless systems can operate simultaneously in one space, making it easy to share a stage with other wireless players.

Wireless Performance and Battery Life

The 2.4 GHz digital carrier gives the WL-20 a stable, license-free connection with a 15 m line-of-sight range. Frequency response spans 20 Hz to 20 kHz, capturing the full range of guitar and bass. The transmitter runs up to 12 hours per charge, while the receiver delivers approximately 7 hours — both refueled via USB Micro-B.

• System: 2.4 GHz — license-free digital band with automatic channel selection
• Frequency Range: 20 Hz – 20 kHz — full-range response for guitar, bass, and electronic instruments
• Latency: 2.3 ms — ultra-low delay for natural playing feel
• Transmission Range: 15 m line-of-sight — covers typical stage and rehearsal spaces
• Battery Life — rechargeable lithium-ion delivers up to 12 hours on the transmitter and 7 hours on the receiver, refueled via USB Micro-B

Ideal for Guitarists and Bassists With Passive Pickups

The WL-20 is the right choice for guitarists and bassists playing instruments with standard passive pickups who want a wireless setup that behaves like a cable. Its cable tone simulation makes it well suited to electric guitars and basses where the treble roll-off of a real cable is part of the expected sound. Players who gig, rehearse, or record in environments free from heavy 2.4 GHz congestion will appreciate the rock-solid connection. For active pickups or acoustic-electric guitars with onboard preamps, the WL-20L variant is the better match.
