Ibanez GRGR330EX-BKF — A Stealth-Look Superstrat Built for Metal

The Ibanez GRGR330EX-BKF is a Superstrat electric guitar from Ibanez's GIO series, finished in an all-black "Black Flat" satin coating for an aggressive, stage-ready appearance. Players looking for a modern, shred-friendly instrument at an accessible price find this model combines a poplar body with a bolt-on maple neck and a Double Locking tremolo system. The reversed headstock and black sharktooth inlays reinforce its metal-focused identity, while the Infinity R humbucker pair delivers tight, articulate tone even with high-gain amps.

What Sets This Superstrat Apart

Standing out visually, this model features an entirely black aesthetic—hardware, pickups, tuners, and locking nut—all matched with reversed sharktooth inlays for a seamless dark look. The Double Locking tremolo locks strings at both bridge and nut, keeping tuning stable through aggressive bar use. A mono-unit output jack, machined from a single solid piece, helps prevent contact failures often found in multi-part jacks.

Body Construction — Lightweight Poplar With a Stealth Finish

Poplar keeps the body lightweight for stage comfort and maintains focus under distortion. Players notice how the satin Black Flat finish cuts glare under lights and feels smooth against the forearm during long sets.

• Body Material: Poplar — light enough for stage comfort, dense enough to stay focused under distortion
• Finish: Satin Black Flat — non-reflective surface suited to dark-stage metal performances
• Hardware Color: Black — completes the all-black visual identity from tuners to bridge

Neck & Playability — Fast GRG Profile With 24 Frets

The bolt-on maple neck uses a GRG profile, which is slightly chunkier than the flagship Wizard neck, but it still provides speed across the board. Thanks to 24 medium frets, high-register lead tones are accessible without obstruction.

• Neck Material: Maple — bright tonal character with strong stability
• Fretboard Material: Purpleheart — dense hardwood that adds warmth and visual contrast
• Scale Length: 648 mm — standard 25.5" scale delivering tight low-end response favored in metal

Electronics & Hardware — Infinity R Humbuckers and Double Locking Tremolo

The HH pickup configuration brings together two Infinity R ceramic-magnet humbuckers, voiced for accurate, tight response with strong dynamics under heavy distortion. Versatility is added by a 5-way selector, enabling coil-split-style tones. Tuning stays stable during aggressive whammy techniques, thanks to the Double Locking tremolo system.

• Pickup Configuration: HH (Infinity R neck and bridge) — passive ceramic humbuckers with clear note definition
• Bridge: Double Locking tremolo — locks strings at both ends for tuning stability during dive-bombs
• Controls are simple—Volume, Tone, and a 5-way pickup selector—letting players adjust on the fly mid-performance.

Who Should Play the Ibanez GRGR330EX-BKF

This instrument is ideal for beginner and intermediate metal and rock players who seek a modern Superstrat with a tremolo system at an accessible price. Those who often experiment with dive-bombs, flutters, or slow vibrato techniques will value the Double Locking bridge's tuning stability. The reversed headstock and all-black finish also appeal to guitarists who want to embrace the visual codes of metal and hard rock.
