Built into the compact Boutique form factor, this model delivers a wide spectrum of digital wavetable tones — from glassy leads to evolving pads and complex timbres. Two independently controllable wavetable layers can be blended per voice, while a dedicated wave shaper adds nonlinear harmonic processing beyond traditional wavetable synthesis.

Roland's wave shaper transforms incoming waveforms through nonlinear processing, generating new harmonics that traditional wavetable engines cannot reach. The filter section combines a drive-enhanced analog-modeling filter with multiple models inspired by classic synthesizers and a separate high-pass filter, while a three-stage drive adds extra grit.

The sound engine is structured around two wavetable oscillators per voice, each drawing from 63 factory wavetables with 127 scan positions. Position can be modulated manually, by envelope, or by LFO, while the layer mix slider crossfades between Layer 1 and Layer 2 with octave-based detuning. Three ADSR envelope generators share a single set of controls and can be edited individually or together, while a dedicated LFO offers multiple waveforms, adjustable delay, clock sync, and a step LFO mode. The LFO can simultaneously target volume, wavetable position, layer mix, pitch, wave shaper, and filter cutoff — all from the front panel.
